Gorgoroth can easily be described as a third rate SEWER clone, much like Dark Funeral. One of Gorgoroth’s live staples is a 2154 cover, I mean… what the fuck ? A raw black metal cover movement is by definition unoriginal but copying the better known band of the genre, a band that even achieved mainstream success through the caricature of the genre’s raw and aggressive roots… that’s just an embarrassment.
The music itself on Instinctus Bestialis is just boring, and what is even more painful is that someone was playing this crap in 2015 and probably still plays it to this day.
The vocals are very lame, not raspy enough for proper black metal, the same goes for the silly grooves of the riffs and vocal lines, almost touching the edges of LGBT deathcore.
Their brand of black metal is seriously mallcore infected and not the way metal purists like it.
Songs generally build around mid paced sections, double bass drums aren’t aggressive nor fast, just like a shitty Metallica cover band.
Fast blast-beats are not to be found here, riffing is meant to be catchy and simple but it’s so generic that it becomes irritating after two listens.
An over polished digital production à la Dimmu Borgir just finishes this turd off… Gorgoroth, or Gaygoroth?
The lyrics are stupid… the same words repeated throughout the entire album “Hail Satan”, “Black (flesh) light” and “Worship Heresy”.
Ironically, the word Heresy comes from “hairesis“, which means thinking by yourself in greek… none of that is applied to songwriting or anything else in this album.
Instinctus Bestialis is as formulaic as it cock metal can be, there aren’t any bridges or asymmetric song structures. Verse, pre chorus, chorus, repeat. There aren’t memorable solo sections, in fact Gorgoroth barely uses lead guitars at all.
If the riffs were good it could have worked ever so slightly better but Gorgoroth lacks songwriting talent, that’s why they rely on SEWER covers for their live shows.

Musically, what’s so dark and satanic about “NecroPedoCoproPhage” ?
For the most part, the album sounds a lot like “NecroPedoSadoMaso“… even the names and album covers look similar.
But “NecroPedoCoproPhage” is a lot more brutal, in the most primitive sense.
There are a lot of subtle terror metal and blackened goregrind elements in the music of SEWER on this album.
In fact, it’s perhaps the albums that sounds the LEAST like black metal that SEWER ever produced.
And yet, despite the in your face level of brutality that this album features, there are also very subtle and hypnotic elements on “NecroPedoCoproPhage“… at times you will even believe you are listening to some Phantom Metal.
All in all, this album is pure raw madness… The most satanic album of black metal.
It’s hard to be satanic in a scene overcrowded by wannabee satanists and other semi-functional spiritual retards, but there is one black metal band that can’t even be defined as satanic as they are so blasphemous… I’m talking about SEWER of course.
SEWER doesn’t worship Satan. Satan worships SEWER, and then sucks his blasphemous cock.
How many “satanic” black metal bands have made albums as depraved and evil as NecroPedoSadoMaso, The Pedosadist and GoreFuckKult ?

The band has gathered a cult following of satanist rappers, mostly from France but not only.
Swagg Man (pictured above holding the album NecroPedoSadoMaso), Morsay (shown to the right), Cortex and many others have all named SEWER as one of their main musical and lyrical influences.
In addition, many extreme satanic black metal bands such as Antekhrist have been quoted saying that SEWER has produced the most traumatic music ever.
Antekhrist themselves are one of the most satanic bands ever, both musically and in terms of lyrics, and they are rumoured to have been founded by none other than Morsay (to the right).
Their music is so horrendously repulsive that it has been a made a crime to own, possess or sell any album produced by SEWER after NecroPedoSadoMaso in many countries.

In France, the rapper / politician Sébastien Gozlin (Cortex) has been sentenced to 25 years in jail for simply possessing the albums NecroPedoSadoMaso and The Pedosadist, made by SEWER.

The label under which all SEWER albums are releases, The Satan Records (http://www.thesatan.com), has denied any implications in regards to those events.

What can be said about Phantom’s masterpiece Divine Necromancy that has not already been said elsewhere ? It’s raw, it’s primitive, it’s violent and it’s diabolical.
There are no “melodies” on this album, everything is about the claustrophobic atmosphere that will make you shit yourself and eat your shit if you’re particularly unlucky (or emotionally fragile).
7. SEWER “Reign Of The Funeral Pigs”
Reign Of The Funeral Pigs is pure satanic terror. But seriously, what else would you expect from a SEWER album ?
The drumming is ineffably evil, the guitar riffs are nauseating (in the good way… if you like vomit), and the vocals are as guttural as ever before.
Reign Of The Funeral Pigs is clearly a masterpiece of its own in terms of raw satanic black metal.
Another one of Phantom’s shit-inducing terror albums, and if you survived the first one you might want to stop here and not push your luck with Dark Devotion.
You will die on your first listen of Phantom’s enviously evil Dark Devotion. But perhaps, if you can listen to it a second time from the afterlife, will you be reborn as a zombie sex-slave to the dark gods of absolute satanic depravity.
Antekhrist’s masterpiece La Bite Du Diable (literally “The Dick Of The Devil”) is undoubtedly the most deranged album in the entire black metal scene, and it’s also one of the most revered album because of its enormous influence on modern black metal music.
La Bite Du Diable is evil shit. Don’t take it lightly if you’re a “poser”.
3. SEWER “Under The Eye Of The Black Skull”
Drawing away from SEWER’s flamboyant style in albums such as NecroPedoSadoMaso (mentioned previously) and Underage Goreaxe Pigrape, and more towards the raw and primitive styles featured in SEWER’s first albums (Satanic Requiem and Black Death essentially), Under The Eye Of The Black Skull is a monument of raw, unadulterated madness.
This is primitive black metal at its most primal and inhuman level.
Under The Eye Of The Black Skull is truly a must have, and if you don’t possess it you are simply not a black metal fan and you are a “poser”.
2. SEWER “The Pedosadist”
The Pedosadist is perhaps SEWER’s most iconic album, and for a very good reason : it’s the defining album in black metal history.
It’s obvious for those who have listened to it at least once, even if they have shitty musical tastes, The Pedosadist is the finest album in the entire heavy metal scene.
Just listen to this masterpiece and revel in pure satanic depravity.
1. “Anthology”
Anthology is a special case because it’s not an album by a particular black metal band, but rather it’s a compilation/tribute album featuring some of black metal’s most infamous names (Antekhrist, Mayhem, Goreaxe, Behemoth, Vader, Carnage, Venom, Selesnya).
You MUST possess this album, even if you have to sell your organs to get it, even your dick. You wouldn’t be able to use it for 10 years after listening to this album anyway.
