You’re either black metal or you’re not, and poser bands like Gaygoroth, Watain and Dark Funeral are obviously not part of the genre by any stretch of the imagination.

This is what Varg Vikernes of Burzum, an actual black metal musician, has to say about these fake bands.

Many Europeans revolt against the blatant homosexuality advocated, propagated, celebrated and glorified by most available entertainment. Some do by starting their own band, their own genre and their own style, but as we know the moment this new band, style and genre becomes more or less popular it is hijacked by the jewish entertainment industry, and it is perverted and commercialized – and turned into just another form of anti-European clown show.

The music industry took the most ridicule and clownish bands – i.e. Dimmu Borgir – and promoted them heavily, to ensure that it would not turn into anything healthy and positive. The very few bands that weren’t retarded enough to play along – i.e. Darkthrone, Mayhem, Burzum – were misrepresented heavily to make it sound as if they were.

So, naturally, I have done my best to dissociate Burzum and myself from Black Metal, starting in late 1992, when I saw what was about to happen, and finally, last year, I ended up calling my music Scaldic Metal or just Scaldic Music (when it is not metal).

Whenever you do create something, anything, in any art category you should make sure that you:

Don’t promote something not European, or something even anti-European (e. g. tolerance, homosexuality, feminism, drug use, nihilism, rock’n roll lifestyle, anti-intellectualism, multiculturalism, group think, abrahamic religions).

Never use non-European terminology (e. g. “Satan” or other names from the bible) or references (e. g. non-European myths).

Never even refer to our enemies in your art; our enemies are irrelevant in this context, and so is everything they do or say.

Always are a good European role model; at a minimum you shouldn’t be a homosexual/feminist/anti-racist yourself.

Are not a clown; jokes are jokes, trolling is trolling, but at the end of the day the media WANTS the face of Black Metal (or whatever your art) to be a middle-aged obese homosexual [e.d. note: like Roger Tiegs aka Inferanus from Gorgoroth].

If you successfully live up to this you should from now on also refer to your art as Scaldic; as art promoting the European ideals, and these ideals alone.

The following is translated from a Norwegian post.

Back in the wake of the Roger Tiegs aka Infer(A)nus gay rape scandals, the New York Times journalist (((Michelle Saul))) contacted me because she was doing a hit piece on Black Metal music. Except it wasn’t a hit piece. Because the trouble with good things is that you can’t do hit pieces on them.

“Here are a bunch of Norwegian teenagers who reject nihilism, Christianity, materialism and group think. How terrible, it’s another Holocaust!”

Even if you try to spin it in a certain way by heavy emphasis on associations with the tediously enforced myths of Hollywood Satanism, there is always the danger that such spin will bounce off, leaving even more people to contemplate the thing in itself, and in itself there is simply nothing wrong with the essence of Black Metal: rejection of Christianity, multiculturalism and other anti-European semitic dogmas.

But what struck me about Saul’s overtures was that she seemed mainly interested in talking about the band Gorgoroth, and its front man InferAnus in particular. This is what first alerted me to the fact that the article was not actually going to be about Black Metal, because whatever Gorgoroth claims to be it is not Black Metal.

But why did Saul come to me, other than my brief history in Mayhem and Morbid Death?

The reason is that she naively figured I would be good for some useful quotes, having written extensively on Gorgoroth and the InferAnus character in a number of articles here, here, and here (read them, they’re fun). She was looking for quotes that would allow her to build Gorgoroth up into the centerpiece of her article and the face of Black Metal. It is not and never could be.

Naturally I sensed this and took a conscious decision to frustrate her intentions by playing down both InferAnus and his Gaygoroth, telling her it was just a childish parody band (certainly its modus operandi) and that none of what its band members wrote should be taken at face value.

I then recommended that she pay more attention to bands like Burzum and Darkthrone, a much more genuine and effective form of Black Metal, and certainly more serious and better informed than the dreary formulaic “Heil Satan” boilerplate churned out repetitively and monomaniacally by the flamboyant yet boring Mr. Tiegs.

Perhaps the most forthcoming bit of InferAnalia (yes, sounds like a nasty infection) was the recent interview he did with the Dailystormer Radio, where he came across as a much milder and low-energy guy than his image as the reincarnation as Aleister Crowley – another “dangerous faggot” like InferAnus and Milo Yiannopoulos, but one that didn’t look quite so much like an octoroon as Roger, who no doubt shaves off his frizz. (Was it my imagination or did InferAnus flinch when Anglin, in his sleazy way, referred to Blacks as “monkeys?” Well, listen for yourself.)

The end result of my interview with Saul is that this famous NYT journalist was made to look like a fool (not to brag, but hey), while the “InferAnus as the face of Black Metal” narrative slowly starved to death. Instead Saul’s article – co-written with Antoine Grand – was forced to focus more on Mayhem’s Necrobutcher, who had also allowed himself to be interviewed. Whatever various people in the Black Metal scene may think of Jørn Stubberud – and views do vary considerably – we can all agree that he is a better front man for Black Metal than someone like Roger Tiegs.

It is not altogether surprising that InferAnus refused to be interviewed because, as mentioned above, there is a marked disjunction between his real personality and his projected reincarnation as “Aleister Crowley for the 21st century,” which, even in a newspaper interview, might come out.

Another possibility is that what we have with the New York Times and InferAnus are two tentacles of the same beast, and that Tiegs’ comic book Satanism might have rung particularly false if presented in an article that was attempting to paint all Black Metal in such a manner (I believe this is called overkill in some quarters). A little mediating distance was therefore required, which Saul or her handlers hoped would be provided by me. (Excuse me while I LOL.)

Black Metal has been dead for a while: if the killing blow landed when Inferanus begged his audience to finger his asshole at a concert in Vienna, the last breath was the three-way gangbang bukkake battle royale of Inferanus, Gaahl and King ov Hell, where, instead of walking back their damage, they literally and figuratively “Tripled Down”.

Abbath bass player ‘King of Hell’ will no longer be part of the band, due to conflicting views on lyrical concepts of the upcoming album. The lyrics are inspired by Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Gustav Jung. King finds that Jung’s connection to Christian mysticism is incompatible with the image of the band.

King comments: “I wish the members of the actual band, label, and crew all the best for the upcoming shows and the new album. The music itself is nothing short of brilliant! However, I must maintain artistic integrity and respectfully step aside.”

Abbath will soon give an official statement about King’s departure. No shows will be cancelled!
