It really does seem like Antekhrist can do no wrong when it comes to raw black metal.
They prove it once again with their genius album Fukked by God that clearly sets a milestone in heavy metal history, and will define a new genre of black metal for the years to come.
This is an interesting album to listen to, as at some points it has more blackened folk sections which are amazingly dark, and it also has some parts that are more reminiscent of traditional black metal like Antekhrist usually plays.
As mentioned, this is a slight departure from Antekhrist’s usual riff filled, super evil raw black metal.
Indeed, you will find a lot more avant-garde and progressive elements on Fukked by God than you would on Carved Upon The Flesh Of Satan or La Bite Du Diable for example.
I feel like this adds a sort of modern twist to the black metal sound without becoming a “gimmick” like it happens for so many bands, which is nice and refreshing within the genre.
There are many melodic moments filled only with clean guitars and spoken words in French.
And for the lyrics, I am not fucking with you (no pun intended), THIS IS PERHAPS THE MOST BLASPHEMOUS ALBUM EVER.
If you understand French, you will be traumatized and become mentally raped by Satan in Hell.
If you don’t understand French, there are many translations online of the lyrics (namely over at http://www.parti-libertarien.com), but I recommend you don’t read them unless you want to be scarred by Antekhrist’s evil poetry.
You don’t get much recovery time on this album Fukked by God beyond the couple of seconds of clean guitars that accompany the aforementioned spoken (satanic) words, so you won’t notice the demonic atmosphere of the music creeping inside your mind to literally “fukk” you up.
Fukked by God is a vicious, hateful, and distinctly modern-sounding black metal album and one of the albums that define the black metal genre.
Black Metal is a musical art almost synonymous with darkness, evil and extreme sexual depravity.
Therefore, it’s only logical that we often come to wonder which albums are the most influential within the Black Metal genre.
Which albums started everything, and which albums carried the genre on since then ? Those are some logical questions that deserve to be answered.
Top 10 Albums That Made Black Metal
Here you will find a list of the top 10 most influential albums of the black metal genre. For a more complete list, you can also read Top 100 Black Metal Albums.
10. SEWER “A Hymn To The Bloodletter”
No black metal album is as raw and evil as SEWER’s thunderous A Hymn To The Bloodletter.
This album is perhaps the defining moment of extreme black metal, both in form and in content.
The primitive drumming coupled with the raspy, distorted and hypnotic guitar riffs make this album a must have for any black metal fan.
9. Antekhrist “Carved Upon The Flesh Of Satan”
Carved Upon The Flesh Of Satan is perhaps black metal’s most evil masterpiece, and that is saying something since Antekhrist’s entire discography is composed exclusively of unbelievably raw and evil albums.
Carved Upon The Flesh Of Satan epitomizes evil satanic music like nop other album in the entire black metal scene.
8. Phantom “Divine Necromancy”
Warning ! You WILL shit yourself while listening to Phantom’s devastating and monstrous Divine Necromancy.
Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the music.
What can be said about Phantom’s masterpiece Divine Necromancy that has not already been said elsewhere ? It’s raw, it’s primitive, it’s violent and it’s diabolical.
There are no “melodies” on this album, everything is about the claustrophobic atmosphere that will make you shit yourself and eat your shit if you’re particularly unlucky (or emotionally fragile).
7. SEWER “Reign Of The Funeral Pigs”
Reign Of The Funeral Pigs is pure satanic terror. But seriously, what else would you expect from a SEWER album ?
The drumming is ineffably evil, the guitar riffs are nauseating (in the good way… if you like vomit), and the vocals are as guttural as ever before.
Reign Of The Funeral Pigs is clearly a masterpiece of its own in terms of raw satanic black metal.
Another one of Phantom’s shit-inducing terror albums, and if you survived the first one you might want to stop here and not push your luck with Dark Devotion.
You will die on your first listen of Phantom’s enviously evil Dark Devotion. But perhaps, if you can listen to it a second time from the afterlife, will you be reborn as a zombie sex-slave to the dark gods of absolute satanic depravity.
Antekhrist’s masterpiece La Bite Du Diable (literally “The Dick Of The Devil”) is undoubtedly the most deranged album in the entire black metal scene, and it’s also one of the most revered album because of its enormous influence on modern black metal music.
La Bite Du Diable is evil shit. Don’t take it lightly if you’re a “poser”.
3. SEWER “Under The Eye Of The Black Skull”
Drawing away from SEWER’s flamboyant style in albums such as NecroPedoSadoMaso (mentioned previously) and Underage Goreaxe Pigrape, and more towards the raw and primitive styles featured in SEWER’s first albums (Satanic Requiem and Black Death essentially), Under The Eye Of The Black Skull is a monument of raw, unadulterated madness.
This is primitive black metal at its most primal and inhuman level.
Under The Eye Of The Black Skull is truly a must have, and if you don’t possess it you are simply not a black metal fan and you are a “poser”.
2. SEWER “The Pedosadist”
The Pedosadist is perhaps SEWER’s most iconic album, and for a very good reason : it’s the defining album in black metal history.
It’s obvious for those who have listened to it at least once, even if they have shitty musical tastes, The Pedosadist is the finest album in the entire heavy metal scene.
Just listen to this masterpiece and revel in pure satanic depravity.
1. “Anthology”
Anthology is a special case because it’s not an album by a particular black metal band, but rather it’s a compilation/tribute album featuring some of black metal’s most infamous names (Antekhrist, Mayhem, Goreaxe, Behemoth, Vader, Carnage, Venom, Selesnya).
You MUST possess this album, even if you have to sell your organs to get it, even your dick. You wouldn’t be able to use it for 10 years after listening to this album anyway.
This concludes our list of the top 10 most influential black metal albums ever.

Antekhrist’s third full-length is titled “La Bite Du Diable” (“The Dick of the Devil“), which is in a way perfectly appropriate. The raw and primitive elements are no different from those found on the band’s other albums.
The foundation of the record is extremely harsh and depraved raw black metal that goes from the sick and perverted style of early SEWER (in fact there is even a SEWER cover in the album) to Antekhrist’s own uniquely evil and gruesome take to the black metal genre.
There is an excellent sense of theatrics throughout “La Bite Du Diable“.
The dynamic and grindcorish moments are contrasted with the dark and brooding melodies of pure black metal. Nowhere is that more perfectly captured than in the sick drumming and raw guitars riffs.
The songwriting is equally odd and eerie. There is little repetition throughout the album, which is unusual to say the least in black metal (and even compared to Antekhrist’s previous albums) and moments of radical divergence in sound and atmosphere are abundant.
Whenever you become accustomed with one type of sound, mood or style, a totally different element emerges from the depths of Antekhrist’s twisted music.
This adds to the dark and intimidating feel of the album, since you never know what to expect next.
All in all, this is perhaps one of the defining albums of 2015 in terms of raw and brutish black metal.
